Just an illusion caused by the world spinning...

I'm probably not the only new mother out there that had this startling realization:

This isn't going to last forever.

Xander is a little over a week old. I was going around cleaning yesterday when I saw the roses Michael got me in celebration of our little son's birth.

They had wilted.

Roses die, but every year, if you care for them, the roses return. There's a song I love by The Flaming Lips called "Do You Realize" that says "the sun doesn't go down, it's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round."

This blog will keep you, my friends and family, close to us. I want to stay in contact with you, and share with you what goes on between sunrise and sunset. I love you!
